Christmas: Reindeers, melting snowmen, flashing lights, dwarves and a little bit of love.

The Christmas holiday is all about buying gifts for your friends and family, decorating your house with bells and flashing lights and listening to festive songs about melting snowmen and Santa clause coming back to town. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love all of the above. I’m a Christmas maniac actually; my room is decorated since the beginning of November and my iPod’s been playing Christmas songs for a while. However, what most people tend to forget about during Christmas is, loving themselves. We get too caught up with preparing for Christmas and giving love to other people in the form of gifts and cards that we forget to care about ourselves.

We are people too and we need love as everybody else does. Yes, it is wonderful when people express their love toward us in the form of words or gifts but loving yourself is so much more powerful since it releases you from love neediness and dependency. I recently found myself getting a nasty flu that forced me to stay in bed for two days. I always believed that physical illness is the manifestation of negative thoughts and feelings and I seemed to have ignored this completely in the past month while I was struggling with unnecessary stresses, a very tight schedule, university assignments and other people’s problems. I was caught up in my busy life, neglected my feelings and desires and most importantly the satisfaction factor in what I was doing. Thankfully for me, my body couldn’t take this anymore and forced me to stay at home for a couple of days to recover.

That was when I realized I needed to put my own well being first. There is no such thing as sacrificing your desires for other people or agreeing to do something just because you feel indebted to someone. I’m not saying giving help is something bad, what I’m saying is helping yourself first, tending to your needs, desires and well-being first before going on and helping other people. For when we don’t love and cherish ourselves first then we’ve got nothing to give to people apart from constant complaints and negativity.

Putting yourself first involves learning to say “no” when you don’t feel drawn in doing something. Forcing yourself to do something when you get no personal satisfaction in doing so will lead you to the path of self-sacrificing resentment. When someone asks you for your help it is important that you take some time and decide whether you will enjoy doing so as well as whether you have the time for it. If you don’t enjoy it then refuse in a kind and loving way.  Most people put themselves up for unwanted business simply because they don’t know how to put people down in a loving way.

A more fun way to love and appreciation yourself is to start doing more of the things you enjoy the most. Many people spend most of their days tending to redundant commitments and fulfilling other people’s desires. It’s time to set others aside, stop worrying about saving the whole world and start caring about your own world. That means listening to the music you like, going out with your friends, relaxing at home, enjoying the foods you love, exercising (If it’s something you enjoy), pampering yourself with a day at the spa, making your own well-being your prime goal. Increase your “Fun” time and decrease your “Have to” time.

Yes, Christmas is all about reindeers, Christmas trees, dwarves and spending ridiculous amounts of money in creating that super-festive décor in your house, but it’s also about love and love always comes from within. If you don’t love yourself first, then you are most probably going to be dependent on other people to give you the love that should have already been there. Love yourself first, not just in words but in action too and then you are really going to enjoy Christmas to all its gayness.  Life is supposed to be fun. Enjoy it!

Kendra Season 4 Finale - LIVE Chat Report

I first started watching Kendra Wilkinson on her “Girl next door” debut back when she used to live in the playboy mansion. Her lively, outspoken but most importantly honest personality appealed to me. She wasn’t pretending to be someone she wasn’t to be and she wasn’t afraid to be blunt. Ever since, I’ve been following her career, reading her books and watching her TV-series “Kendra.”

Even though I couldn’t watch the season 4 finale, since I live in England, I was still excited when Kendra tweeted she was going to be chatting live with her fans during the show. Of course, that meant sacrificing my beauty sleep by staying up until 4:00am, but it was worth it. Kendra stayed true to her down-to-earth self, chatted with her fans, answered questions regarding the latest season, offered tips for young mothers and revealed her future plans.

When asked about her favourite moments in season 4, Kendra pinpointed three major subjects. She loved their new (and finally fully furnished and decorated) house in LA , baby Hank’s transformation through the season and the “light moments” of this season where we can finally see Kendra laughing, having fun and enjoying her life. When it comes to the house she seems to be particularly fond of the famous heated seat toilet as well as the African safari themed bedroom that is “not TOO cheese, comfortable and has amazing lighting.”

Kendra revealed that the Hank family is chilling at home during Thanksgiving to enjoy their newly decorated house. Regarding Christmas, although she didn’t announce any plans, she made her point clear that “Christmas is all about food and family.” When it comes to young mothers, Kendra advices to “set a schedule and include naptime every day” and as for healthy snacking for baby Hank, Kendra and Hank make him their own smoothie popsicles. As much as she enjoys being with baby Hank, she finds the time to be spontaneous with her husband staying true and proud to being a sexy mum.

Kendra’s live chat was Fabulous as was the lady herself! There’s no better way to end this report other than Kendra Wilkinson’s last words:

gooooooddd night everyone!!! thank u soo much for watching! happy holidays.”

Well being abounds!

I find it really pointless and masochistic to watch documentaries on all the problems, poverty, torture, abuse or exploitation people go through all around the world. I don’t blame people for watching them or producers for investing in such documentaries for I had been one of those people who spent hours pondering on all the misery in the world.

My turning point was the realization that concentrating on the problem will never create any solution. I understand how people may call me selfish for deliberately refusing to expose myself to all this negativity. If the desire to feel good is selfish then I’m proud to say that I’m immensely selfish, for feeling good is my prime aim in anything I choose to do. I am not saying, however, that I don’t care about the disadvantaged; I just choose to distance myself from experiencing their negativity and instead help them by the means of visualization. I believe charity is only beneficial when we consciously visualize the disadvantaged finding a better place, for then we focus our attention to the solution and not the problem.

Every experience, thing or action was first a thought that, driven by the Law of attraction, became a physical manifestation. In this respect, negative thoughts will only produce negative experiences.

There is so much well being in this world and the well being is, really, much more than any negative events taking place. Appreciate more, pamper yourself more, laugh, pet your dog,  talk to people you love, sing, dance, love your life, love yourself, surround yourself with positive experiences and thoughts and your life will magically change into that ever-improving story you are creating with your thoughts. Life is supposed to be fun!

Belieber And Proud

I’ve never fully understood what many people got against Justin Bieber. I realized I cannot get into a serious conversation about the teen singer with anyone aged 15+ and any positive comments I make about him or videos and pictures I post on facebook are taken as jokes and are made fun of.

The way I see it, people are just incredibly jealous of Justin Bieber’s success and I understand their jealousy completely. The guy, (or shall I say boy?) became famous when he was just 13 years old, made a huge career out of his singing and as of recently, acting, and is one of the wealthiest celebrities. So, I do sympathize with people spending so much of their energy hating him in their attempt to feel better about their own life.

I choose to appreciate Justin Bieber for what he represents: The proof that when you have a desire and you become a vibrational match to it with your whole being, this desire will eventually manifest. I appreciate him for managing to achieve this vibrational alignment at such an early age and I’m inspired to do the same.

Am I a belieber? TOTALLY!

Earth Paradise

Source: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/04/28/really-stunning-pictures-and-photos/

The power of earth is phenomenal and the amount of positive energy one can gain from pondering upon the wonders of this planet is endless. I realized that this was one of the fundamental reasons I chose to study geography and I realized it just now, 2:00am, while looking at the stunning pictures above and listening to Enya. It’s amazing to see how the right combination of circumstances, mental and emotional state and audio-visual sources can combine together to give you such undeniable clarity about yourself.

I always felt that life is supposed to be fun and I knew there was an infinity of activities you can do on planet earth. I feel such deep appreciation for being born in a planet where the forces of air, water, fire and earth work together in such a perfect destructive but at the same time harmonious way to create mountains, oceans, lakes, rivers, forests and glaciers. The amount of well being and abundance on planet earth is immense and I feel blessed to be able to live here and study all the processes that make up this paradise planet.

Living on TV

The first TV-series I started watching obsessively as a teenager was Desperate Housewives. I remember going to the DVD rental store and getting the DVDs for every season. I used to lie on the couch and watch episode after episode, getting involved with the characters’ lives and “living” in their world. In the same way I was excited then, I still am now although Desperate Housewives is not the only TV-series I watch.

The idea of living through the characters and experiencing, in my mind at least, things I’ll never be able to do in my real life, got me so excited as a teenager that I ended up being a TV-series maniac, watching more than ten different series. Vampires, werewolves, socialites, gladiators, wizards, psychics, murderers - It’s so much fun being able to involve yourself in so many different worlds, ages and lifestyles. I mean, who wouldn’t like to dress up in Gossip Girl fashion, be able to move objects with their eyes like Merlin or live in a world where vampires are out of the coffin and werewolves get out on a full moon?

Life in TV-series is fun which makes our lives more interesting. People could say this is just wasting time off your real life but I believe that entertaining oneself is a vital aspect of health and happiness. Feeling good is my prime goal in everything and my TV-series add that extra sparkle and glamour to my life that keeps me vibrant and hyper 24/7!

I’m looking forward to an amazing season with my favourite TV-series! :)

MTV Video Music Awards 2011

The MTV Video Music Awards 2011 left me with teary eyes and a great deal of appreciation. Lady Gaga’s performance and appearances were incredible, Britney was hot as always, Bruno Mars’ voice amazed me, Justin Bieber’s fashion choices were impressive and the tribute to Amy Winehouse was really touching.

However, my favourite part of the whole show was the tribute to Britney Spears. Britney is, for me, an undeniable pop culture icon. With her voice, songs and stage presence she conquered the world of pop music and now, a mother, she is still making great music and doing spectacular shows worldwide. What made the VMA tribute to Britney so memorable and touching, in my opinion, was the fact that Lady Gaga was the one who presented the award. Knowing that two of the world pop queens respect and admire one another, is what music is really about - Bringing people together sharing your success with people and appreciating them for it.

Men’s Fashion Trends Fall/Winter 2011

Summer’s nearly over and the temperature is rapidly falling. Soon enough a simple T-shirt, your shorts and flip-flops won’t do the magic and you will need to unpack your woolen sweaters, thick coats and boots. If you’ve been wondering what to wear this Fall/Winter 2011, don’t panic. I have gone through all designers’ fashion shows from Milan, New York and Paris and dug out the fashion elements that will add some ice and fire to your look this season.

________________________________________________

Trenchcoats

Burberry Prorsum has favored Trenchcoats for the past two years now but it seems that this fall/winter 2011 fashion is all about them. Trenchcoats’ popularity is reaching great heights this winter with most brands creating exquisite designs for the famous “soldier coats” as was the central purpose for their creation during the first world war. Most brands including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Cabbana, Dior Homme, Jean Paul Gaultier, Gucci and Michael Kors chose trenchcoats to be a focal point in their designs for the coming season. A diversity of fabrics and colors where used with particular emphasis on fur adding that extra glam to the equation.

________________________________________________

Colors

When it comes to colors, the accustomed tones of black, grey and light grey dominate this season, although they are combined with flashy colors especially strawberry red. Jill Sanders colorful garments are not so unique anymore since first class brands like Louis Vitton, Alexander McQueen and Versace all used electric reds and blues in combination with blacks and grays in an effort to make this winter as lively and vibrant as possible.

________________________________________________

Fur

Fur is back in fashion for both males and females, used vehemently to both accentuate a garment in strategic places such as the collar or to sell the whole show with full fur coats. Fur has always been an exemplar of power, determination and classiness which seem to be the three words that mostly characterize this season’s fashion. If you need that extra diva attitude, a furry coat will help you express your audacious self.

Oversized Shoes

If you like it rough but elegant then you are going to love this season’s shoes. Although color-wise, tones of black and camel dominate, the shoes are chunky and oversized with the designers varying the soles’ color and size, giving them the edge and sophistication that would be appreciated by both rock stars and classy socialites.

________________________________________________

These two looks by D&G seem to incorporate most of the fashion qualities that will dominate this coming season, by reaching a balance between up-scale and street fashion. Through the mixing of dark and bright colors as well as adding sporty oversized shoes, these outfits would fit to most stylish young men, where as the coats add some more sophistication which allows an instant change of look.

My Fabulous Crazy Life!

I’m one of those people who have to keep themselves busy 24/7 or they will go crazy. If the day ends and I’m not exhausted from all the different things I did during the day I’ll usually get depressed and blame myself for being too lazy. I guess this is called masochism. I came to the realization that I forced this on myself during my A-levels’ studying-obsession and, it seems, that I’m stuck with it for the rest of my life.

Even though I decided not a get a job this summer, I instinctively bought seven books for light reading and enrolled in three online classes, only because I was feeling my life was being wasted on too much sleeping, drinking and relaxing. It gets a bit tiring some times but I can’t do it differently. I don’t know if it really is a post-Alevel syndrome or simply the way I am, but I’m enjoying learning new stuff all of the time, and filling up my time with interesting activities and social outings.

I’ve always been a person who liked getting involved in everything (apart from sports, even though I recently discovered I enjoy playing tennis.). As a high school student I was a member of almost all societies of my school; Art club, music club, crafts club, environment, drama, hiking, anything; Everything! Even the intensity of university life failed to water down my lust for action. My aim for this year is to take classes in ballet, contemporary and tap dancing, tennis, yoga, get involved in the Music theater and Opera societies as well as join the Chamber choir. With all these activities plus the necessary studying I need to do for my degree, I’m destined to reach new heights in my crazy life!

I do, however, believe in enjoying life to the full and always doing things that make you feel happy, so I guess, as long as I enjoy what I’m doing it’s not a bad thing at all. It is tiring and I do need a weekend all to myself once in a while, but I do enjoy my vehemently busy, slightly masochistic life and I intent to keeping it this way for as long as it feels good.
